This is the top 100 children’s books as picked in an online survey on National Education Association. Bold titles are the ones I have read, italics are the ones I want to read.

My Uncle Oswald – Roald Dahl

The book in one sentence: Oswald Cornelius is “the greatest rogue, bounder, connoisseur, bon vivant and fornicator of all time;” a young, handsome, rich, enterprising, hot-blooded male with a sense of humour and the world as his oyster!

Who would you recommend it to: Anyone looking for a fun, witty read. It’s not serious, but it’s not fluffy too.

OK bits: Everything about it is more than okay!

Boring bits: I don’t really like how it ended, but I don’t hate it. Interesting ending.

Verdict: This is the only full-length novel that I know of by Dahl and I. bloody. love. it. You should really give it a go!
