First Line Quizzes

How well-read are you? That’s what the BBC book quiz of well-known first lines in books is testing. I got 6 right, but a couple were lucky guesses.

If you liked that, here’s another which has more book’s first lines quizzes.

Then there’s another link to several interesting book quizzes.

Finally, I took this Which Austen Heroine Are You? quiz.

I am Fanny Price!

You are Fanny Price of Mansfield Park! You are quiet, faithful, and moral, but those around you may think you priggish. You love deeply…and jealously.

All possible results: Elinor Dashwood, Marianne Dashwood, Elizabeth Bennet, Fanny Price, Emma Woodhouse, Catherine Morland, Anne Elliot

I got 7/10, not bad, but 2 were guesses. As for my Austen heroine, well I’ve read them all several times, so it was pretty easy to guess which answers would lead to my favorite. (I like yours too, nylus)

nylusmilk: nice. 🙂 i think this is a bit embarrassing, but i haven’t read a jane austen novel. 😮 well, i’ve read pride and prejudice half-way but the deadline to return to the library came quicker than i could read the book in time!

i definitely want to read it some day. (i did watch becoming jane though, and it was quite nice.)
