The Search for Delicious – Natalie Babbitt

nb

The book in one sentence: Young Gaylen travels the country under the King’s order to take a poll on what is the definition of delicious.

Who would you recommend it to: Readers who enjoy a fairytale-like story.

OK bits: The story itself.

Boring bits: The way the story is written in some parts.

Random review quote:

“A fantasy adventure that’s as fresh and sparkling as spring water. It’s truly delicious.” — The New York Times Book Review

Verdict: The plot, the story, it’s really quite nice. Reminds me of Neil Gaiman’s Stardust. Yet, I found it boring at times. If you go for fairytale stuff, this is a nice read you can finish in one afternoon.
