Last week, I did not get much from the Big Bookshop sale because I was low on the dough, and there wasn’t really anything that screamed. “Buy me!” So I got
James & the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl, RM15 (normal price RM26)
The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton, RM12. I already have a copy, but this edition looks so much better I couldn’t resist.
Just came back from the Pay Less Books sale and the children and young adult selection are disappointing. Nevertheless, I got:
Frightful’s Mountain by Jean Craighead George, RM3. This is a spin off off her more famous book My Side of the Mountain.
The Pigman by Paul Zindel, RM2. I have a copy, but I prefer this edition better.
The Pigman & Me by Paul Zindel, RM3. I already have The Pigman’s Legacy, so this completes my Pigman collection.
Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt, RM3. George W. Bush recommends this book, honest to God.
Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes, RM2.50. It’s a book often used as a class text in Amerian high schools, or so the impression I have, so I want to read and see why.
Also this week I went to the club library and borrowed some books.
A Cook’s Tour: In Search of the Perfect Meal by Anthony Bourdain
Perfume by Patrick Süskind
The Peppermint Pig by Nina Bawden
Jo of the Chalet School by Elinor M. Brent-Dyer
Young adult and children literature will be my calling, I can feel it. 🙂
